For decades now, Omega has been admired for its blend of sportive timepieces and its finer watches as well. In 2007, this reputation is unchanged, with its latest range of Seamaster 50th Anniversary editions as well as its classy De Ville collection.

Omega's famous Co-Axial escapement has found its way into a tourbillon movement for 2007. The De Ville Central Tourbillon Co-Axial Chronometer watch is a red gold masterpiece with a titanium tourbillon cage and chocolate brown bridges and plates. The automatic winding movement combined with a tourbillon is a relative rarity, and thus the De Ville Co-Axial Central Tourbillon is a special addition to Omega's collection.

Omega launched new in-house manufacture calibers this year, the 8500/8501 movements. These will find their way into the De Ville range, and the watches that will house them are called the Hour Vision by Omega. Once more, Omega's Co-Axial escapement technology improves precision over long periods. The balance bridge and the rotor are fashioned from 18K red gold, following the Omega tradition.

The Omega Museum collection grows with the addition of 2007's Marine 1932 watch, the seventh member of the family. The double case is crafted in 18K red gold and white gold which contrast with each other, and together help to accentuate the sleek, 1930's Art Deco styling. In revisiting the classicism of that era, the Marine 1932 recalls a sophisticated style that appeals to this day.

Fifty years after the first Speedmaster came to light, the new Speedmaster Professional Chronograph Moonwatch is unveiled. Made of stainless steel, the 42 mm case houses a famous Caliber 1861 which has proven itself even in zero gravity. A 45-hour power reserve and 50 meter water resistance ensure this watch survives the rigors of tough usage.

The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Co-Axial Limited Series pays tribute to the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Speedmaster Chronograph. There will be 57 pieces of each of the three gold versions and 1957 stainless steel pieces, which make this a covetable item.

For the discerning watch buyer looking for luxury, precision, and prestige in equal parts, the new Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow could be next on their lists. The Caliber 3313 with Co-Axial escapement offers enhanced precision and reliability. A combination of 18K red gold and stainless steel adorns the case, which can sport either a leather strap or a bracelet. End of Article
