Singapore-based IndoChine Group has teamed up with Villa
Santi to develop a luxury resort and villa development in Phuket, collectively
named IndoChine Villa Santi. Translated, Villa Santi means 'peace' in Thai.
Occupying an area of 28,900 square meters on sloping terrain, the resort and
villas overlook Santi Bay, Kalim Beach in the Patong area.
Explaining the joint
venture, Michael Ma, CEO of the IndoChine Group, says: "This is a natural
progression as we are already in the business of restaurants, clubs and bars,
and doing it successfully. The next venture is to get into hospitality and
hotel management."
When completed, IndoChine Villa Santi will comprise spa
villas, apartment suites, residences, Gaya studios and sky pavilions, with
signature IndoChine dining concepts and a full range of sports and recreational
facilities. It is expected to open with 26 villas and 11 Gaya studios by mid
December this year, with apartments, sky pavilions and hotel suites set to
follow in January and March 2008 respectively.
