If you own a Ford GT,
you only have eight months left to upgrade your car into the Ford GTX1
Roadster. This is because Gennadi Design Group, the company responsible for the
limited edition makeovers, has announced that it will stop taking orders on 31
August 2008. This, regardless of whether Gennadi meets its original target of
600, inclusive of 100 SEMA editions (see pictures) that first appeared at the
SEMA show in Las Vegas in 2005.
The upgrades included a roof conversion, racing
seats, adjustable shocks, Wilwood brakes, a hidden rear bumper, and some
interior improvements. The GTX1 also received a power boost to 700hp. Thus far,
only 100 GTX1s have been ordered and completed.
However, Genaddi says it will still provide other services for GT owners after August 2008,
such as butterfly doors, performance upgrades, chassis stiffener systems and,
wild interior and exterior color changes. But the GTX1, by then, would just be
a piece of history.
