For the perfectionist, capturing Life’s moments, the way you see it, in glorious wide-format is a dream come true. Swiss camera developer, Seitz Phototechnik, has available a 160-megapixel 6x17 Digital camera.
At a width of 18.3 inch,
and weight of 3.3 kg, Seitz 6x17’s camera body is massive compared to others on
the market. However, it produces high definition images at 160 million pixels (60mm x 170mm) with 48-bit
colour depth, and allows you to adjust raw images (dng) according to your needs.
Paired with the Seitz D3 scan back (co-designed with DALSA
Corporation’s sensor specialists), the 6x17 can scan images at full resolution
within a mere second.
The
D3 scan back cassette can be removed and used interchangeably with other cameras
like Seitz’s Roundshot D3
360° panorama. Indeed, all
components are fully modular to suit the needs of the travelling professional.
Optional mobility sets consisting of a tablet PC with colour touch screen
(digital pen), 60 GB hard disk, and gigabit Ethernet connection to the camera
are also available for those who want process and render images on-the-go. The
Seitz 6x17 is priced at USD36,340.
