With
distinctive collections inspired by historical figures and
mythological figures, pen-maker and entrepreneur David Oscarson is
this time inspired by the 23rd
and final grandmaster of the Knights Templar, Jacques de Molay.
De Molay was arrested in 1307 after King Philip IV of France
manufactured evidence that the Knights Templar were heretics.
After
six and a half years of interrogation and torture by agents of both
Rome and Paris, de Molay refused to admit to the fabricated crimes, a
decision that cost him his life and secured his place in history as a
martyr.
Awed by de Molay's sacrifice for the integrity of his fellows, Oscarson
produced this breathtaking commemorative pen.
Maintaining the
exceptional detail and brilliant patterns Oscarson pens are famed
for, the spiral detailing replicates the Apprentice's Pillar and the
cap's pen clip represents the Templar's sword. The fountain model
retails at US$4,500 and the ballpoint model retails at US$4,300.
