With a price tag normally reserved for
the likes of a sprawling mansion or a Bugatti Veyron, the USD6
million Kipnis Studio Standard (KSS) possesses a rock-solid case for
being the most elite home theater system ever built.
Consisting of
some of the best audio/video equipment money can buy, the setup’s
first-rate visuals and sounds come courtesy of an ultra-high
resolution (4,096 x 2,160) laboratory-grade Sony SRX-R110 Digital
Cinema Projector, an 18-foot by 10-foot screen, an 8.8 channel audio
system with 16 eighteen-inch subwoofers, an extensive collection of
media players including Sony’s BDP-S1 Blu-ray Player, Toshiba’s
HD-XA1 HD DVD Player, a Sony Playstation 3 and even a Pioneer
laserdisc player, as well as a host of amplifiers and surround sound
processors.
The KSS is built by American Imaging Science
Foundation-certified technician Jeremy Kipnis, who hopes to market it
to movie-industry professionals and wealthy home theater aficionados.
Any takers, George (Lucas) or Steven (Spielberg)?
