A staple of cigar retailers, the full-scale walk-in humidor is a luxury that is largely impractical for even the most ardent of cigar aficionados. Swiss humidor specialists Michel Perrenoud though are offering their walk-in units for private use, with a 10-feet square, 10-feet tall unit. As a rule, retailers are advised to opt for units that are no smaller than 8-feet square by 8-feet tall so Perrenoud's unit skirts the edges of commercial standards. A unit of this size is currently installed at the Lausanne Palace Hotel, in Lausanne, Switzerland and it is not a stretch to imagine it in a suitably well-appointed home. With a full array of shelves, this walk-in humidor can easily store up to 10,000 cigars, assorted bottles of fine liquor and even a large-screen plasma television. Of course, the unit comes with humidity controls.
