If
you have a habit of losing your way around town, or if it's your
first time in a foreign country, fret not.
With Nokia's Beta
version of Maps 2.0, unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (GSMA
2008) in Barcelona, finding your way around is a breeze.
A new
feature, which Nokia calls Walk, introduces pedestrian-focused
navigation, which provides visual turn-by-turn directions, and
information
on the surrounding buildings, streets and parks.
In newer handsets
like the Nokia 6210 Navigator, a built-in compass points the
direction in which you are walking. And there's even the option to
purchase multimedia guides with photos, videos and audio streams of
your destination.
Nokia Maps 2.0 for selected devices is available
for download on the Nokia
Beta Labs
website. A Series 40 version of Nokia Maps will be available for the
rest of the Nokia models during the first half of 2008.
