The new Jaguar Portfolio range, catering to the discerning motorist that seeks a customized Jaguar to suit his or her personality, will be launched in 2009.
Covering two models, the XJ and the XKR, the limited edition Portfolio cars will feature unique paintwork, styling, drive technologies to differentiate themselves from their counterparts. Keeping in line with tradition, both the XJ and XKR Portfolio range are all-aluminium in construction, and this lightweight nature ensures a thrilling drive for both models.
This 2009 range, set to debut at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, seeks to build on the success of the initial Portfolio series of cars that appeared in 2007, beginning with the Jaguar XKR, and now with the new XJ portfolio onboard, it appears to be a complement to the weekend racer’s dream of bringing his excitement over to the work week.
The new XJ Portfolio is powered by a supercharged 4.2-liter V8 engine, capable of 400 horses, and for the customer who is more keen on comfort, the naturally aspirated V8 engine will be a good bet.
Racing ahead, the XKR Portfolio outruns its sibling with 420 horses, and is equipped with a new braking system featuring the largest discs ever installed on a production Jaguar.
In all, Jaguar has managed to create two similar yet unique models which are suitable for work and play. Yet the discerning motorist would be hard-pressed to feel out of place during the weekends with the XKR, or back to the office in the XJ on any given weekday.
