What does somebody do with 1,001 horsepower and a
top speed of 407 km/h (or 253mph)? This is the question owners of the
Bugatti Veyron might just ask themselves. Harking back to a
collaboration first initiated in the 1920s, Bugatti has teamed up
with haute couture house Hermes and designer Gabriele Pezzini, to
accessorize the Veyron.
Showcased
for the first time at the 2008 Geneva Autoshow, the Bugatti Veyron
Fbg par Hermès is named after Hermès’ historical
headquarters on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. The
“Fbg” references the house’s “faubourg” address.
The
exterior is a two-tone combination of ebony and étoupe colors
while the luxurious interior is clad in bull calfskin upholstery,
from the seats to the dashboard. The door handles resemble the
handles on Hermès travel bags.
The
famous letter H are represented as a design of interlocking H’s on
the horseshoe radiator grille, according to the press release from
Hermès, and also grace the central butterfly wheel locks.
The
price tag is pegged at a cool $1.4million, and considering that
Bugatti’s last special-edition car, the Pur Sang, sold out in a
day, this one looks set to repeat that feat.
