One could not be blamed for expecting a lot from Lamborghini’s upgrade to its most successful model of all time, and the Gallardo LP560 far from disappoints.

The supercar’s original, already impressive 5.0L, V10 engine is replaced with a 5.2L V10 with FSI direct injection, which along with a reduced curb weight of 20 kg, gives the LP560 560 hp, a top speed of 323.5 km/h (201 mph) and a blisteringly swift 0-100 km/h (0 – 62 mph) time of 3.7 seconds.

Other noteworthy upgrades include a redesigned, bolder exterior, 31% higher aerodynamic efficiency, 40% faster gear change times, improved suspension, traction, handling and stability, an integrated pedestrian protection system and an optional carbon ceramic brake system.

Aside from motor enthusiasts, the LP560 also gets the thumbs up for its environmental friendliness – thanks to increased fuel efficiency and 18% lower CO2 emissions.
