The skyline of the capital city of Baku in the central Asian republic Azerbaijan, is about to change radically with these two Lunar beauty projects.
The Full Moon Bay and Caspian Plus are both the brainchildren of the Korean firm Heerim Architects and act as two opposite extremes overlooking the Caspian Sea. These two architecturally dynamic projects are located on two neighboring peninsulas and act at gateway markers.
Hotel Full Moon, a 35-storey luxury hotel, will be constructed as a disc with rounded edges and a hole in one of the top corners that would offer differing vistas depending on the angle it is seen from. And this is made possible by the cladding treatment the architects have selected.
On the opposite side of the Peninsula stands Hotel Crescent as part of the Caspian Plus redevelopment. This 32-storey hotel with 221 rooms also comes with 128 serviced apartments within the building. It is shaped as a curving arch similar to a crescent moon.
