Maserati will showcase a sportier version of its GranTurismo at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
The new S version boasts a more powerful 4.7-liter V8 engine which develops 440 hp, propelling the car from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, and red lines at 295km/h – the fastest top speed for a production model Maserati.
The electro-actuated gearbox with MC-Shift allows the GranTurismo S to respond to gear changes in 100th of a second.
The same high performance braking system developed in collaboration with Brembo that was first used on the Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S brings this beast to a halt from 100 km/h (62 mph) in 35 meters.
In addition to slight visual tweaks that give the S version its supposedly sportier look, the interior also gets a new look with Poltrona Frau leather upholstery and Alcantara trim.
