Industrial designer Gene Gordon has worked with many greats,
including leading global office furniture manufacturer Herman Miller and one of
the world’s foremost furniture designer Don Chadwick.
The skillful Gordon now pleases chopper enthusiasts with the
“Goth Rod” - a chair that brings the feel of chopper cruising into the home
with a chopper inspired chair. Don't mistake the Goth Rod for just a quirky
decor however.
With springer suspension on all four legs and the backrest,
its high comfort matches its distinctive biker style of polished metal and high
class detailing.
These include TIG welded steel frame; triple chrome-plated
CNC machined billet parts; hand-carved leather saddles; a skull top jockey
shift; wet black urethane paint hand pin-striped in red and ivory; hand tooled
mahogany leather seat over neoprene padding; and even adjustable foot glides.
In addition, every built-to-order chair can be custom
painted, with other custom commissions that can be considered on individual
request. And the price? $13,000 - but for a limited production number of only
50 individually numbered pieces, chopper fans really need to accelerate and
beat the rest to be one of the proud owners of these Goth Rods.
