The Strata Tower, a forty-story luxury residential building
is Abu Dhabi’s answer to making an architectural statement, which has so far
been the forte of its northerly neighbor, Dubai.
Designed by New York-based architects Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture of Asymptote,
construction has now begun on the project on Al Raha Beach, is scheduled for
completion in early 2011.
Asymptote used state-of-the-art, advanced computer modeling
tools to create the tower’s curvaceous and innovative design, including a
cantilevered exoskeleton structure that allows generous amounts of light to
bathe the building’s interiors.
At a height of 160 meters, the Strata Tower will dominate
the skyline of the Al Dana precinct, and become the crown jewel of the upscale
Al Raha Beach development by Aldar Properties PJSC.
