Samsung’s answer to Apple’s iPhone and HTC’s Touch Diamond comes in the form of its new touch-screen SGH-i900. Though the Korean electronics giant has not officially unveiled the product, images and information have begun to proliferate in cyberspace.

Cnet Asia reports that the SGH-i900 is clad in brushed metal, and shape wise, resembles the iPhone, only thicker but lighter. Like the iPhone, the i900 intuitively adjusts the screen between ‘landscape’ and ‘portrait’ when you tilt the phone.

The SGH-i900 will feature 16GB internal storage, optimized web browsing and downloads with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, a 5-megapixel camera and runs on Windows Mobile 6.1.

There’s also an optical sensor for a directional pad, just as in the SGH-i780. Haptic feedback – which essentially means that your finger experiences a buzz each time you touch a key – is increasingly becoming a mainstay in all Samsung’s new mobile phone lineup, which started with the Instinct and Soul.
