More details on the new Chevrolet Camaro were released at
the official launch in Detroit earlier today. Available in three models, the LS
and LT will come with 3.6L direct-injection V6 engines pushing out 300 bhp and
getting up to 26 mpg on the highway.
The SS models will come with six speed
transmission and 6.2L V8s, with the manual version pushing out 422 bhp and the
automatic 400 bhp on an Active Fuel Management system, with an estimated
highway fuel efficiency of 23 mpg.
Boasting four-wheel independent suspension systems, four
wheel disc braking on all standard models and four piston Brembos on the SS,
Stabilitrak stability control, traction control, variable power steering and
six standard airbags will also make for a greater, safer driving experience.
The RS appearance package that has featured heavily in the
photos released thus far will only be offered on the LT and SS models, and will
include HID headlamps with integrated halo rings, spoiler, specific tail lamps
and 20-inch wheels. Check out the official launch video below from Autoblog.
