July may be a little too early for truffle season but in
case you are craving for some, Harlan’s at ifc mall in Central, Hong Kong, have
lined up a delectable truffles menu to fulfill your wish.
Its ‘Summer Black Truffles Menu’ hail from The Wine and
Truffle Company in Western Australia, where the rich soils and cool climates of
Manjimup presented favorable conditions that replicate major truffle-producing
regions in France and Italy.
Led by Dr Nicholas Malajczuk and winemaker Mark Aitken,
around 13,000 truffle inoculated hazelnut and oak trees were planted in 1997,
and first truffles were harvested in 2003.
Now guests at Harlan’s can savor freshly harvested truffles
from Australia’s largest trufferie in a sumptuous spread of appetizers, entrees
and even dessert from 8 July to 3 August.
Says Harlan’s Chef
Nelson: “It’s a unique opportunity to savor a rare
gourmet product that usually only comes into season for a short time in
autumn.” Feel free to
indulge yourself with more black truffle servings at US$8.70 per gram.
