Luxury timepiece retailer The Hour Glass brought three renowned independent watchmakers to Singapore and hosted a lunch for them at Gunter’s. Rock star of horology Vianney Halter joined Kari Voutilainen and Roger W. Smith in presenting their watches to a select group of press.

At Vianney’s table were his seminal Antiqua, the Classic and the Trio while Roger W. Smith regaled his audience with his Series 2 watch, sporting the now-famous Daniels escapement.

As for Kari, his Chronometer 27 kept the table buzzing. Aside from the watches, the quality of the discussions on mechanical watches – from the emerging industrial capacity of the People’s Republic of China to most complete manufacturers of minute repeaters – was excellent.
