Swiss company Algordanza specializes in the art of helping to preserve memories of departed loved ones for eternity, offering a service that turns human ashes into sparkling memorial diamonds.

In a delicate process that will be carefully documented from start to finish, ashes will be subjected to extremely high temperatures and pressures to yield a diamond bearing the same physical, chemical and optical qualities as a dug diamond.

Diamonds produced are usually white, but may have a bluish tint depending on the chemical composition of the ashes, and can be produced to a maximum size of one carat.

The unique procedure to have departed loved ones immortalized as memorial diamonds takes about three months to complete, and costs anywhere between 4,500 to 17,000 Swiss francs.
