Aside from the ability to make calls, Apple’s iPhone has a
hard battle on its hands if it wants to trump the technical specifications of
Archos’ next generation of internet media tablets.
Available in three variants,
namely 5, 7 and 5G, the tablets, powered by ARM Cortex microprocessors, will
feature high resolution touch-screen operation, Wi-Fi, HD video support, up to
320 GB of storage space, web browsing, e-mail, 3G, audio and video recording,
and a new user interface to boot.
Screen size and storage space separate the
three variants, priced between 350 and 550 Euros, and will receive staggered
launches between September 2008 and January 2009.
