Hilton geared up for the Beijing Olympics with the opening
of its new hotel, the Hilton Beijing Wangfujing, just days before the world’s
largest summer sporting extravaganza kicks off.
Designed by Singaporean based architectural firm Wilson
& Associates, the hotel’s interiors evoked the classic Rococo-style, and
also took inspiration from the Forbidden City, which is a mere stone’s throw
away. Guests are greeted by an impressive and colorful collection
of objet d’art by Beijing artists of local and international fame at the
hotel’s lobby.
With 255 guest rooms, including 58 executive suites and a
penthouse suite, the rooms feature marble top vanities, a separate two-jet body
massage, “rain tile” showers, a deep-soak Victorian style bathtub and a
spacious walk-in closet.
Executive suites for the busy jetsetter are equipped with a
full array of office facilities, dedicated concierge services and an executive
lounge with private secured access.
Should
you have difficulty falling asleep amidst all the sporting euphoria during the
Games, the hotel will be glad to offer a very interesting suggestion – watching
a goldfish for 10 minutes before bedtime. And they will be more than happy to
provide you with one to get you acquainted. Just remember to feed the fish
before you head out to catch your favorite sporting events the next day.
