Owing to the new-found popularity of hybrid
vehicles and the esteemed reputation of Lexus’ flagship LS series itself, the Lexus Hybrid Drive
powered LS 600h L has received an expectedly frenzied reception since its
unveiling in 2006.
The Pebble Beach edition, launched in honor of Lexus’ new
partnership with the venue for one of the world’s most prominent Concours
d’Elegances, features notable safety and security upgrades.
This includes the
Advanced Pre-Collision System (APCS), which detects pedestrians obstructing the
vehicle’s path, and a driver Monitor System that warns drivers of impending
obstacles when their heads are not facing forward.
Aesthetics have also been
given a boost in the form of a customized paint job, and an interior with
alabaster and black leather trim, and Dark Grey Bird’s-eye maple wood trim. 50
units will be on sale in October, along with a Pebble Beach
edition of the 300 SC 430 hardtop convertibles.
