The coveted
Montblanc Writers Edition continues with a line dedicated to George Bernard
Shaw. Launched in 1992, this limited
range honors a selected writer each edition.
The George Bernard Shaw Limited
Writers edition is no exception, with its design paying homage to the writer
and dramatist’s most famous creation – Eliza Doolittle, or better known as the "My Fair Lady".
The
exterior features dark green marbled lacquer, fading ring by ring until it ends
in the shiny surface of the cap. It is resonant with Eliza Doolittle’s rags-to-riches
story, from a flower girl to an aristocrat.
Upper class touches are reflected in the captivating flower designs at
the gold nib, and the signature of Shaw is engraved under the trademark
Montblanc star.
For
the first time, the collection has been extended to leather writing accessories
with a conference folder, a writing notebook and a smaller money notebook. Made
of nappa calf leather, the accessories are lushly beautiful with closing flaps
and elaborate insides. Extracts from his famous works are embossed on the
outside as well as inside.
The exclusive edition will be available in
boutiques from August 2008 and in selected trade partners from September 2008.
