New York-based makers of high-quality sound equipment,
Arcici, take us on a trip down memory lane with their SpJ Alba Turntable, a
modern-day version of the phonographs.
Coming with an eight kilogram standalone motor house driven
by a semi-soft single belt, the Alba also has a separate switch for reducing
motor voltage. The platters have an outer diameter of 330 mm and a height of
185 mm.
Resting on stainless steel contact points and a ground-base aluminum
plate, the sleek metallic finishes lend an industrial touch to the gramophone’s
nostalgic image. The SpJ Alba Turntable itself is priced at US$26,000, and is
sold separately from the SpJ Lyla Pick-up Arm.
