After two years of fine-tuning and preparation, UK-based
Arash Farboud will officially unveil its Arash AF10 prototype with full
production scheduled for the summer of 2009.
The Arash AF10 may not have caused much of a stir when it
debuted at the British Motor Show as a concept in 2006 but this mid-engined
carbon-fiber clad sportscar possesses some excellent performance capabilities
that could challenge the likes of the Gallardos and F430s.
A Corvette LS7 7.0
liter V8 engine outputs over 530bhp, with options of an upgrade to the more
powerful ZR1’s LS9 6.2 liter turbocharged V8 when it becomes available in about
a year’s time. This will increase the power output to 638bhp and 585 lb-ft of
torque. Only a maximum of 20 Arash AF10 will be produced annually, with a price
tag of £172,000 each.
The British automaker has also lined up a smaller version
dubbed the AF8 which will share the same chassis design as the AF10 but with
only the sole option of a LS7 engine. The AF8 will go into production in 2010.
