Porsche is deliberately keeping its chips close to its chest
as it slowly unveils its first-ever four-door saloon, the Porsche Panamera Gran
Turismo. Beginning 15 September, Porsche will reveal increasingly more details
through a microsite e-zine called Panamera Online Magazine in an elaborate
marketing campaign.
Details are sketchy in its first issue, which featured a
teaser shot of the Panamera but the Stuttgart-based automaker has promised more
details in the form of double-page spreads in leading news and business
magazines about a month from now.
The Panamera is a rear-wheel drive and is
said to come with a 4.8-liter V8 engine capable of shelling out 400bhp, with a
turbocharged version producing 500bhp. Porsche says the car is likely to go
into production later this year, and the first cars go on sale as early as
summer 2009.
