Luxury suitcase
maker Henk has launched a limited edition of their signature Travelfriend
suitcases made of genuine ostrich leather or calfskin leather and coated in
23.8 carat gold and palladium. Like the other suitcases in its high-end range,
about 500 individual parts go into the making of each HENK Travelfriend, and
skillfully assembled by a small team of craftsmen.
The same grade of gold or
palladium also adorns the inside of the suitcase, together with high-tech
fibers or horsehair. Prospective owners also have the option of having their
name engraved on it – to make it more personal. A matching set of HENK attaché cases in
gold or palladium ostrich leather complete the series.
The HENK Travelfriend in
gold-coated ostrich leather and gold leaf
interior is priced at 42,500 euros (or US$59,600) while the palladium treatment
goes for 40,000 euros (or US$56,100), and is exclusively available at Karatt,
Paris and Harrods, London.
