Meraas
Development has commissioned Chicago architect Adrian Smith from Gordan Gill
Architecture to design four new projects as part of the Jumeirah Garden master
plan. The masterplan includes 1 Dubai, 1 Park Avenue, Park Gate and Meraas
Tower. Dubai aspires to be one of the most architecturally spectacular cities
in the world and the three developments keep to this claim.
The masterplan's centerpiece, 2,000sq ft-high vertical city 1 Dubai will connect the tallest towers in the world entirely by
skybridges. 1 Park Avenue is a 116-storey tower that incorporates undulating, organic
form as a tribute to Dubai’s relationship with water and pearl trading.
Park
Gate covers 4.7 million sq ft of space connected by vaulted canopies. All three
will house a mixture of office, condominiums and service apartments, hotels and commercial space. Construction has begun on the
masterplan of three projects, with a completion date set for 2020.
