Orient-Express Trains and Cruises have released its 2009 brochure that details its luxury travels by train, barge and boat. It covers its journeys to the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia with itineraries and photos, and includes its new barge trip Afloat in France as well as its reconditioned river cruiser, The Road to Mandalay.

In Europe, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express travels from London to Istanbul and passengers can expect stays at renowned hotels as well as inland trips into Central Europe. Those who hanker for an Asian experience can hop onto the Eastern and Oriental Express.

The classic journey between Bangkok and Singapore goes through the exotic Malay Peninsula landscape, and includes visits to the famed temples of the Far East.

For a trip through Scotland, the Royal Scotsman is your choice. The new travel route now features stops at its most spectacular country homes within the country. On the other hand, for day excursions and short trips across UK, the new highlights are the British Pullman and Northern Belle Trains which travel in-route.

For travelling on water, the Orient-Express introduces a new program and renews a prior one. Its new water program, Afloat in London takes a scenic cruise on a barge past the vineyards and villages of Burgundy, Provence and the Loire Valley.

A seven day wine-tasting tour, the “Semaine des Grand Crus”, compliments this reverie. A cruise through Burgundy aboard the Napoleon rounds up the trip.

After the 1998 cyclone, the Road to Mandalay has been reconditioned to travel again, for those who wish to witness the beauty of Myanmar on water. A full Road to Mandalay brochure will follow in late 2008.
