After months of anticipation, Dutch supercar manufacturer Spyker has finally lifted the lid off its
latest special edition, the striking C8 Laviolette LM85. Unveiled at the recent
LA Auto Show, the mid-engine two-seater is based on the C8 Laviolette GT2R
LeMans race car, and boasts much more than just its eye-catching GT2 livery.
A
400 horsepower 4.2 liter Audi V8 engine takes centerstage in the underhood
offerings, which is paired to a manual six-speed Getrag gearbox that drives the
rear wheels with a Drexler limited slip differential. A fully aluminium chassis
and body offer a relatively low kerbweight of 1275 kg and an impressive
power-to-weight ratio.
Black leather, alcantra and orange contrast stitching
ensures a fittingly characteristic interior, which pays further tribute to its
racing pedigree through an aluminium dashboard instrument panel, a personalized
LM85 serial plaque and optional Chronoswiss dials and switches.
And as if the
car itself isn’t reason enough, Spyker even has a couple of deal-sweeteners for
the 24 enthusiasts fortunate enough to get their hands on the LM85 – all buyers
are given a special Chonoswiss 24 Hours Pilot Watch, and will be invited as
special guests at the 24 Hours LeMans in June 2009.
