Christmas 2008 gets a mechanical twist from traditional British couturier Alfred Dunhill with their new mechanical belt. This belt sports a one-handed lever system that allows for an expansion of exactly 35mm, which is the same allowance a traditional tailor builds into a custom-made suit.

Through the lever system, Dunhill says it is possible to discreetly adjust the belt while the press statement notes that the belt’s properties will come in handy when maneuvering “to and from a low-seated sportscar.”

Other Alfred Dunhill gifts this season include a pair of limited edition Bulldog onyx and diamond cufflinks – 50 pieces for the diamond edition, 250 for the onyx – presented in a lacquered box; a pave black diamond USB key – 8GB, 272 black diamonds and oxidized sterling silver; a set of gold leaf playing cards – with 24-carat gold leaf laminate – presented in a Tradition leather case with two packs; skis with titanium base and teak or carbon fiber – developed with ski experts Speciale; a limited edition Bulldog fountain pen; a cashmere crew neck in various colors; and cashmere and silk scarves.
