South Korea's proposed Gateway Business Centre in Incheon looks set to be a vision straight from the creative minds of Philadelphia-based design firm KlingStubbins.
The Gateway Business Centre, located in Songdo International Business District is being jointly developed by Gale International of New York and Korea’s Posco E&C.
Named as a “green urbanism” pilot project by the US Green Building Council, the master-planned city will be a short hop from China and Japan’s major business districts.
The design of the 3,425,000-square foot Gateway Business Centre will include five office towers, a large expanse of retail space, and an underground parking lot, amidst other environmentally friendly features such as a rooftop garden, sheltered by 12-meter high glass panels and a trellis of photovoltaic panels.
Other amenities within the Business District will include a 100-acre Central Park, world-class hospitals, international schools, premium retail malls, and a 18-hole golf course.
The newest metropolis in the world to be designed and planned as a business district will open its doors officially come August 2009, and full completion is expected sometime in 2014.
