Apple has unveiled the new 17-inch MacBook(R) Pro, featuring a built-in
battery and enclosed in a precision aluminum unibody casing.
While it has many similarities to the previous 15-inch models, the non-removable
lithium battery incorporates the newest technology by Apple, which promises to
deliver eight hours of use and 1,000 recharges. Encased in a compact unibody
construction, the new MacBook is made even thinner by the removal of its
battery pack at the base.
An ultra-thin, widescreen 1920 x 1200 display delivers 78 percent more
pixels than the 15-inch processors and runs a 60 percent greater color gamut,
close to desktop quality color. Apart from eye-popping colors, it boasts the
latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, up to 8GB worth of main memory and a
graphics architecture that allows users to switch to the powerful NVIDIA
GeForce 9600M GT discrete graphics processor for higher performance.
The new MacBook Pro is only 0.98-inches thin and weighs 6.6pounds. It is purportedly
constructed from recyclable materials, therefore ensuring its safety from harmful factory toxins.
