This former church on Toxteth Road
is located in Sydney, Australia
and was built in 1898. Its interior has since been resurrected into a
contemporary residential space.
Merging traditional charm with modern, efficient design
aesthetics, the house offers flexible lifestyle choices with its elevated
two-storied infrastructure. The entrance level has four bedrooms and bathrooms,
including a master suite.
The second level is kept airy and light-filled with clear,
sloping panels as part of its ceiling. Glass panels that separate the dining
area from the spacious, outdoors balcony maintain the estate’s uncluttered
feel, reminiscent of its prayerful, worshipping days.
The original façade of the former church has been kept, preserving
its historical outlook. Otto Cserhalmi + Partners Pty Ltd is the chief
architecture design firm behind this project, and the house is for sale on the
market.
