Italian luxury automaker Maserati have debuted their new
Quattroporte Sport GT S at the recent 2009 Detroit Auto Show, to coincide with their
70th anniversary of their first win in the Indianapolis 500 races.
The new sportier model features a more powerful 4.7 liter
V8, pushing out 433 bhp and the same amount of torque as the regular Sport GT
version. The maximum engine revolution limit is set at 7,200 rpm.
Equipped with
an automatic six-speed gearbox, gearshift management software, coupled with a
stiffened suspension and lower ride height, gives the driver the ultimate
control in determining the comfort and driving style preferred.
On top of a
manual and sport mode, a new MC Auto Shift mode designed for use on the race
track adds to a more complete sport package.
The exhaust management system contributes to a drive where the driver is
in control of his on-road experience.
Exhaust flaps which remain closed for
minimal noise can be opened at the push of a button, with pneumatic controls
opening flaps that channel exhaust directly outside the vehicle, producing a
mean, throaty sound that completes the transformation of the experience behind
the wheel of the Quattroporte to a harder, faster drive.
