Salt & Sill, the first floating hotel in
Sweden will accompany the internationally acclaimed restaurant with the
same name on the Herring Island of Klädesholmen.
Situated atop floating pontoons just
outside the restaurant, the 46 guestrooms including one suite will overlook the
Bohuslän’s outer archipelago. In nautical fashion, the rooms are evident of
stark Scandinavian simplicity, with granite flooring and weathered wood
features. Outside seating rooms are attached, to allow access to the sea. A
Jacuzzi room comes with the only master suite available, an alternative viewing
pad for the seafront scenery.
With the famed seafood dishes available at
Salt and Sill restaurant a few steps away, the hotel makes a fine venue for quiet
meetings and conference calls.
Other seaside activities include kayaking
and RIB orienteering, which involves navigating a boat around the island. In a conservation
attempt to maintain the supply of fresh raw cooking materials, rubble leftover
from the hotel construction will be used to build a new reef for marine life.
