Unveiled just last week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Sony Ericsson Idou is the latest model by the mobile giant.

The first 12.1 megapixel camera phone ever to be launched in the U.K., the Idou (the name’s a working title for now) couples the outstanding photography and music technology signature to its parent company Sony and makes for a truly superior set.

Along with the outstanding megapixel count, the Idou is outfitted with Xenon Flash and autofocus functions, producing quality pictures on a 16:9, 3.5-inch touchscreen, courtesy of Sony’s Cybershot technologies.

Sony Ericsson’s marriage of touchscreen technologies with mobile camera functions also makes possible touch screen shooting and focusing, an excellent vantage for those fond of taking pictures on the go.

The highly responsive touchscreen is paired with Symbian OS. Add that to superb music entertainment capabilities of Sony’s Walkman systems, and you have an all-rounded winner here.

The Sony Ericsson Idou is the closest upgrade from its cousin, the C905 and is comparatively slimmer and loaded with better technology. It will be made available in the second half of 2009.
