In the quiet village of Ouderkerk, just fifteen minutes from
the bustling city of Amsterdam, lies an oasis of comfort, the Lute Suites.
The
result of a collaboration between one of Europe’s most acclaimed young designers,
Marcel Wanders, and renowned Dutch chef Peter Lute, this exclusive hotel packs
luxurious comfort, iconic design, and exquisite cuisine into a complete
boutique getaway.
Set on the site of a reclaimed 18th century
gunpowder factory, each of the hotel’s seven standalone gabled cottages have
their own living room and kitchenette spread over three levels, and come fitted
with ten-foot windows overlooking the majestic Amstel River below.
All of the
suites are individually decorated and bear Wanders’ signature furnishings, from
his celebrated “knotted chair” to his webbed Gwapa chairs.
Gastronomy naturally shares center stage with the hotel’s
strong focus on design. Guests can choose to dine in style at the famed Lute
Restaurant where the hotel gets its name, to have breakfast delivered to their
doorstep, or even to have a private chef cook up a storm on a private canal
boat as they cruise down the Amstel.
