British supercar manufacturers Caparo have taken their famed
T1 model back to its roots with the introduction of the T1 Race Extreme,
returning the racecar designed for the streets back to the track.
With it upgraded all-aluminum 3.5 liter engine, the 620bhp
V8 pushes the Race Extreme to its top speed of 208mph, and to 62mph in a mere
2.8 seconds. On top of a fully adjustable suspension, traction control and
aerodynamic packages, the upgraded engine control unit allows owners to tune
their engine and six-speed sequential gearbox to their liking.
The T1 Race Extreme will also come with the option of a full
climate pack for maximum driver comfort. The cockpit is enclosed in a plexi-glass
canopy, made of the same toughened acrylic used in armored windshields and
helicopters such that owners can enjoy the full benefits of the optional air
conditioning system.
While the price of the T1 Race Extreme has yet to be made
available, the full climate option with both the canopy and air conditioning
system is expected to add another £25,510 to the car’s price tag.
