Luxury watch brand Blancpain gained fame for its robust 50
Fathoms watch, the world’s first true diver’s watch with a uni-directional
bezel, in the 1950s. Since then, the watch has been an important part of the
brand’s portfolio.
In 2009 at BaselWorld, Blancpain intends to dazzle with its
new 500 Fathoms watch, which as its name implies is water resistant to 1,000
meters. Compared with last year’s version, significant improvements have been
made in the luminous display of the markers and the size, now at 48mm in diameter.
Blancpain calibre 1315 gives this automatic a power reserve of five days while
the titanium case keeps it tough yet light.
