The Bugatti Veyron has spawned so many different iterations
that we have lost count, and like most of its various incarnations, this
Bugatti is more of a cosmetic makeover.
Bugatti plans to kick-start its centenary celebrations with
this aptly named Bugatti Veyron Blue Centenaire, which was unveiled at the
Geneva Motor Show.
Talk of a more powerful Veyron and a record-breaking top
speed was premature, as the Bugatti Veyron Blue Centenaire is just standard
fare Veyron, albeit painted in a mix of gloss and matt blue to evoke memories
of the EB110. Still, we’re talking about a car with a power output of 1,001 hp
and a 0-62 mph acceleration in 2.5 seconds.
For its centennial showpiece, Bugatti used polished and
anodized aluminium on the wing mirrors and roof-trim-stripes, and designed a
new alloy wheel. The interiors and central console are sheathed in a special
“snowbeige” leather.
Like all new Veyrons made from 2009 onwards, the Bleu
Centenaire will come with new LED lights, parking sensors and a rear-view
camera. The price for this special one-off: a cool 1.35 Million euros,
excluding taxes.
