There’s nothing to crow about these days when it comes to
producing the most anorexic LCD TV set, and the idea of having skinny TVs that
are wall-mountable has almost been treated as a given.
That could explain Samsung’s decision to unleash its first
full line of LED Full HD TVs, a product the South Korean electronics giant is
heralding as the “Next Generation TV”, and hoping to spark a new trend of its
own.
The difference between LED TVs and their LCD predecessors
lies in the ability to control brightness levels to produce richer and deeper
colors, like blacker blacks and whiter whites. On an environmental note, these
LED TVs are lead- and mercury-free, and offer energy savings by up to 40
percent.
