The St. Regis Singapore plays host to the international designers, supermodels and participants that will descend upon the island nation for the inaugural Audi Fashion Festival 2009.
Notable highlights of this year’s Fashion Festival include flamboyant
UK designer Gareth Puth (who will debut his Autumn/Winter’09 women’s
wear collection), Christian Lacroix Couture Spring/Summer 2009, Marc by
Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood Autumn/Winter 09-10 Collection, an
Ashley Isham Couture Showcase and Blueprint 2009 featuring homegrown
talent and designers from the Southeast Asian region.
While the five-day fashion extravaganza (6-10 May) will take place mainly at the Tent@Orchard, Ngee Ann City, The St Regis Singapore has lined up a series of events of its own, as the Festival’s Official Hotel.
Call it the scarlet alternative to every woman’s wardrobe staple – the little black dress. The Little Red Dress Exhibition will be held at The St Regis Drawing Room, with the intention of making more than just a fashion statement.
The dresses will be auctioned off, with proceeds going to the Singapore Heart Foundation. Coincidentally, the “little red dress” theme has also been chosen as a symbol of an international movement this year to rally women to combat heart disease.
Keeping with the fashion theme, the hotel’s Pastry Chef Alain Herber attempts to titillate your taste buds with a fashion-inspired selection of cakes and pastries at Brasserie Les Saveurs.
