Good news comes early for all those eagerly anticipating the
Fall/Winter season. Change is in the air as Louis Vuitton launches their 2009
Women’s Prefall Collection in anticipation of the chillier autumn days ahead.
With the same ladylike Forties vibe that inspired his Spring/Summer Collection,
Marc Jacobs softens the look this time by taking the colors down a notch and
letting subtle elegance and luxury lead the way.
The echoes of summer are still evident with the warm, rich
tones and bold printed fabrics in the collection, joined by darker blues, grays
and blacks realized in tweed and velvet, and accented with fur with a nod to
the coming change of seasons.
The elegant Forties silhouette continues with the help of
high slender heels and oversized platforms, embellished with bows, tassels and
sequined embroidery, while lambskin gloves, a mink scarf, and the
Kalahari-style bag of the season with matching waist-belt in Monogram-embossed
suede in autumn hues of taupe and brown top it all off – perfect for who can
wait no longer for a taste of fall.
