Fresh from becoming Moët & Chandon’s new muse back in
April, Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson is also now the new face of high
street Spanish fashion chain Mango.
Taking over from Spanish actress Penélope Cruz, who has been
Mango’s face for the past four seasons, 24-year-old Johansson debuts in Mango’s
Autumn/Winter 2009 campaign.
Explaining their choice of Johansson, Mango says Johansson
“embodies the ideal of the urban, independent and cosmopolitan woman MANGO
wishes to dress. A woman who is serene and elegant, yet fun-loving and youthful
all at the same time.”
Johansson first shot to fame with her critically acclaimed
performance in the film The Horse Whisperer in 1998, and though she has not yet
nicked an Oscar, her talent and acting skills have earned her multiple Golden
Globe nominations.
Johansson joins an already impressive list of supermodels
and celebrities, including the likes of Milla Jovovich, Lizzy Jagger, Karolina
Kurkova, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Inés Sastre, Claudia Schiffer, Christy
Turlington and Diane Kruger, who have been Mango’s muses at various times.
