With the strong emphasis placed on returning to nature these days, the Salvatore Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2010 collections took the lead with palettes of orange, caramel and yellow in their new line.
Christian Ortiz was inspired by yesteryear Africa, with a return to the sack dress that thrilled women and dismayed men in 1950. Decades later, this shapeless garment has found a new lease of life on the Milan runway.

Apart from the made over sack dress, the collection was a contradiction of full skirts, day coats and light layers in yellow and mango interspersed white perforated taupe. On the extreme Savannah end, smudged and smeared browns were interwoven with coral and deep amethyst for a striking contrast.

The rift on Jodhpur was featured in front of chopped trousers, and waistcoats with a daring plunge to the thigh accompanied prolonged collars. A bib front on an outfit with a sheer long-sleeved top descended in embrace of beads and clutches, completing the ensemble to give an overall air of grandeur and formality.
The highlights of the line were a number of pale coats in crocodile, python, and laser-cut leather. A black gown with concentric circles of beads at the neckline struck a positive chord on the final collection.
