Italian fashion staple Giorgio Armani brought its Autumn/Winter 2009 men's and women's collections to Moscow to celebrate the first anniversary of the flagship boutique in Moscow. The man himself, fashion icon Giorgio Armani, put in an appearance in a show of confidence about Russia's prospects.

“I visited Moscow last in 2002 and found the city to be full of the most incredible energy. I am really looking forward to seeing Moscow again and experiencing its wonderful mixture of culture – that very special combination of the historical and the contemporary – and the city’s constant evolution. I also feel that despite the recent economic events, Moscow will regain that same energy quickly. It is important for me to support my initiatives in new markets and to show by my presence my belief in the importance of Russia as a great home for modern fashion,” said Armani in a statement.

While in Moscow, Armani hosted a cocktail party, presented Emporio Armani collections as well as a showcase of Giorgio Armani Prive, in addition to a Giorgio Armani show, all from the Autumn/Winter 2009 season.
