Yes, this wonderfully weird creation is indeed a Christmas tree, through the eyes of John 'Christian Dior' Galliano. Looking possibly like a hybrid out of Avatar, Pan's Labyrinth and Twelfth Night, the 20ft faerie tree has put down roots in the lobby of the Claridge's hotel, London.
This collaboration is a first for both Claridge's and for the oh-so-fabulous and ever garrulous Galliano. The hotel had never before worked with a fashion designer of such stature and Galliano had never designed a Christmas tree before.

As you can see, the Claridge’s Christmas Tree by John Galliano for Dior is a vision of winter in the tropics, with an adorable snow leopard, dragon flies and parrots thrown into the mix. If nothing else, its tree-of-life sort of vibe is quite transcendental.
“I am thrilled that Dior is collaborating with Claridge’s this Christmas. I love to visit Claridge’s when I am in London, particularly at this time of the year – and I hope to bring a twist to the traditional tree. I want to combine the festive with the innovative, the spirit of Dior with the beauty of Claridge’s, and create something spectacular that will inspire the perfect start to the season!” said the mustachioed one.
The tree will remain in the lobby until - wait for it - Twelfth Night, on 6 January.
