Aman Resorts have flung open the doors to their 24th luxury development - this time in Hangzhou, China.

The retreat is located 20 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of central Hangzhou and sits happily in a disguised valley, amongst fields, temples and thickets of bamboo.

The 47 buildings in the resort used to be home to tea farmers. And this means there are just 16 rooms, 21 suites and 5 villas in the Amanfayun complex, which coupled with the fact that they're all distinct, makes for a cosy stay.

Of course on top of the lovely rooms, there are the obligatory tasty little eateries and an indulgent spa as well. But the most appealing feature of all is perhaps the Tea House. The traditional tea service offers guests the chance to blow gently on a piping hot cup of Longjing (Dragon Well) Tea, which is grown in the surrounding fields.

Introductory rates, starting at $333 per night are available through April 30, but they then spike up to $580 per night after that date.

Aman Resorts are on quite a roll at the moment. You might remember us recently highlighting their success with another Chinese getaway in Andrew Harper's 'Hideaway Report'
